Courses
PETA offers the following courses which are occasionally reviewed and revised. These courses are not offered simultaneously but are scheduled within the boundaries of space and time.
THEATER FOR DEVELOPMENT
- Introduction to Theater for Development (TFD1)
A course focused on the use of theater arts plus the creative and participatory processes in development work towards community research and action plans - Theater for Development in the Community (TFD2)
Enables the participants to experience the PETA Integrated Theater Arts (ITA) approach through creative processes with community exposure-immersion and special sessions on community situational analysis and exploration of the different theater forms culminating in a short play production and a community action plan - Trainers' Training: Creative Pedagogy for Non-Government Organization Workers (TFD3)
Puts to test the tools, processes, principles and philosophies of education in integrating creative methodologies in an NGO worker’s training work to equip her/him to be an effective trainer- Creative Pedagogy for Feminist Education
Enhances women (and men) trainers-educators’ capability and be able to engage them in creative feminist education work by highlighting the progressive teaching-learning philosophies, principles and methodological processes of the PETA creative pedagogy and feminist pedagogy that hopes to result in a more advanced, culture-based, comprehensive and holistic approach to women’s education

- Theater for Advocacy (TFD4)
A course focused on the use of theater arts plus the creative and participatory processes in advocacy work of issues towards an informance (informance-performance) or other cultural forms- Theater for Advocacy on the Rights of the Child
An orientational-artistic-organizational integration of the rights of the children, the exploration of various artistic disciplines and promotion of child-friendly programs and activities for caregivers, social workers, teachers, child advocates and trainers of children both from the GOs and the NGOs - Theater for Advocacy on Human Rights
Makes use of the integrated theater arts approach and other creative processes with participatory analysis of all human rights advocates and trainers on the tenets of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Theater for Advocacy on Peace Building
Optimizes the integrated theater arts approach and other creative processes with interactive exchanges among peace advocates in looking through the road to peace and its promotion - Women’s Theater for Advocacy
Utilizes theater and the creative processes in relating women’s stories and experiences and deepening their understanding and analysis of women’s issues towards performances that promote gender empowerment
- Theater for Advocacy on the Rights of the Child
- Managing Theater for Development (TFD5)
Makes use of the creative and participatory processes in the organizational development and management of development initiatives - Special Theater for Development Topic (TFD6)
A customized course on specific development work concerns - Gender Sensitivity Training
Uses the creative arts to sensitize and enhance capacities of the participants in understanding gender-related issues by providing a dynamic space to sharpen analysis of gender issues and share experiences in creative ways - Theater and Therapy
Uses the artistic disciplines for the psycho-social debriefing of the survivors of human abuse and natural disasters - Art Camp
A battery of art activities, outdoor games, skills development sessions and camaraderie building through group dynamics - Arts Management and Organizational Development
Situational analysis, visioning and programs and personnel management through the creative arts for art managers, program directors and staff members of people’s organizations, NGOs and art groups - Trainers’ Training
A participatory educational learner-centered process involving the dynamic creation and acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes - Leadership Training
Harnesses participation of youth leaders among their programs with weight on leadership qualities, group process skills, communication and team building plus their role in the past, present and future development of the society coupled with situationers and group visions and plans
