Current Project for Young People (Young IDEA)

Project Title: VIEWS (images and literary pieces for, of and by the youth)
Organizer: Brazilian Network of Arts Educators

Description: Do you have a FaceBook account? Start connecting with the young artists of the world!!! Be part of the IDEA world network for young people.

Photos by young people of typical 'dramas' and 'places' that are part of the 'theatre of everyday life' inside school classrooms, playgrounds and corridors, for a virtual exhibition.

The exhibition will reveal the many needs of schools today and contribute to debates about what education in the 21st century really should be, from the point of view point of those who rarely participate in the debates about education.

The exhibition-project begins in FaceBook, on August 1st, and ends on November 27th 2008, on world drama/theatre education day. It will then be e-toured through schools across the world (down-loaded, printed and exhibited), before being developed into material for a Young IDEA workshop and a final global exhibition during the 2010 world congress.

The project guidelines:

  1. Anyone studying 'at school' is eligible to enter this world project.
  2. Each participant can submit one photo, providing he/she has the permission of those who appear in it.
  3. Each photo should be accompanied by a creative statement by the photographer of up to 50 words - a poem, a song, a short story - that captures the experience of the photographed moment.
  4. The project dates are from August 1 - November 27, 2008.
  5. Any contribution is always welcome. Please post them and spread the word to your friends!
